Organic extra virgin olive oil
The olive groves at Il Poderaccio spread on the hills of Siena and are cultivated with organic methods which are controlled and certified by I.C.E.A. (Institute for ethical and environmental certification). From the olives grown at Il Poderaccio, a unique organic extra virgin olive oil is produced. According to standard, this special olive mixture includes frantoio (58%), moraiolo (25%), leccino (14%) and other varieties (3%).
The olives are hand picked and brought to the mill within three days max. from harvest, thus preserving the original characteristics and pure substances present in the fruit.
The Frantoio Etrusco, the mill located in Murlo, in the surroundings of Siena, ensures cold pressing with no exposure to oxygen.
Our oil stands out for its low acidity . Its olive fruit aroma is accompanied with a pleasantly peppery aftertaste.
This pure virgin olive oil "Terre di Siena" is an organic produce and its production is limited to maximum 600 litres per year. It can be purchased exclusively at Il Poderaccio in 0.25, 0.50 and 0.75 litre bottles or 1.3 and 1.5 litre tins.

DOP "Terre di Siena" extra virgin olive oil
Overlooking the hills of Siena, the olive groves at Il Poderaccio are cultivated with organic methods which are controlled and certified by I.C.E.A. (Institute for ethical and environmental certification). This land produces the valuable DOP pure virgin olive oil "Terre di Siena".The DOP label "Terre di Siena" guarantees that the olives are produced only at il Poderaccio's farm, which is part of a special DOP zone. The olive blend used for "Terre di Siena" olive oil complies with the DOP standard: frantoio (58%), moraiolo (25%), leccino (14%), other varieties (3%).
The olives are hand picked and brought to the oil mill “Frantoio Etrusco” di Murlo (SI)) within three days max. from collection. Here they are pressed in 24 hours, thus preserving the original characteristics and nutritional elements present in the fruit.
The olives are cold pressed and not exposed to oxygen.
This very special oil is submitted to the control procedures that regulate the entire production line, from the growing of the olive trees to the bottling.
Organoleptic analysis and a “PANEL TEST” will finally show if the oil can comply with “Terre di Siena” DOP standard.

The D.O.P. pure virgin olive oil "Terre di Siena" is an organic produce and its production is limited to maximum 400 litres per year. It can be purchased exclusively at il Poderaccio in 0.25, 0.50 and 0.75 litre bottles or in l. 3 and l. 5 litre tins.

"Chianti Colli Senesi" DOCG
A Tuscan red wine, Chianti Coni Senesi DOCG is the latest production by Il Poderaccio.The first bottle of this 2004 production dates 2005 and represents an excellent, quality-for-money choice. With its combination of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Tuscan Colorino wines, this Chianti is made of grapes coming from vines located at 350 m above sea level and featuring 4,600 stubs a hectar cultivated with spurred cordon.
These organically cultivated grapes have been controlled and certified since 2000.
Today the reference certification body is the I.C.E.A. (Institute for ethical and environmental certification).
A traditional wine-making process is used for the production of this Chianti which is preserved inside steel and concrete temperature-controned thanks to superficial water flowing on stainless steel tanks.
The fermentation and the following soaking processes last 10 to 15 days during which deléstage and the repassing of must over the grape dregs enhance polyphenolics extraction. Malolactic fermentation is completed afterwards.
Tasting notes: Intense ruby red wine with fruit odour featuring marked violet and red fruit flavours. Intensely winey and harmonic taste with a nice, elegant and highly enjoyable structure. It matches perfectly with beef, mutton and pork, savoury and seasoned cheese.
"Brunaccio" IGT Rosso Toscana
IGT red wine from Tuscany is the jewel of Il Poderaccio.Growing in a terroir conveniently exposed southwards, this special wine originates from a selection of grapes of highly refined quality.
Produced with pure Sangiovese grapes, the same used for the renowned "Brunello di Montalcino" cultivar, this unique wine is made in Chianti, where Il Poderaccio is located, hence the name of Brunaccio, that is "Brunello of Il Poderaccio".
The grapes are organically cultivated and submitted to relevant control and certification procedures since 2000. Today the reference certification body is the I.C.E.A. (Institute for ethical and environmental certification).
Tasting notes: Brunaccio offers the most genuine expression of the Sangiovese wine cultivated on the Chianti hills of Siena. These organically grown grapes, make 100% of Brunaccio and ripen at least 2 years in concrete tanks thus “taming” tannins without losing its special features.
With a ruby, almost burgundy red colour, Brunaccio has an intense, winey perfume and a dry, well-balanced, slightly tannic, vigorous and lingering flavour. Its special odours include tobacco, red fruits, blackberry, raspberry and an after-taste of stones of mature cherries.
Brunaccio matches perfectly with braised and stewed beef and game.

"Organic Grappa"
(made from organically grown grapes) A special 43-degree grappa is the ultimate produce of Il Poderaccio Farm. This special liquor is distilled by D.E.TA. srl from pomaces obtained from organically grown grapes.
No pesticides are contained in anticriptogamic and antiparasitic treatments applied to the vines and grapes and a limited use of sulphur dioxide allows for the development of a different microbic flora. Pleasantly unusual aromas and tastes - specially dedicated to the fans of organic products - are thus generated in this unique liquor.
Limited production - a few 0.50 - litre bottles per year.
